Petra Ernyei hit the big stage aged only 17 – at a jazz festival in San Francisco, together with the Jazzphonic Orchestra from Prague, led by her father, a well-known banjo player. Petra was a soloist in the famous Original Prague Syncopated Orchestra for three years and took part in the recordings of the album "Walking and Swinging".

Petra recorded in her first solo album "Who Loves You" in 1999, a wonderful interpretation of the swing music of the 1930s. Accompanied by superb pianist Jakub Safr and other musicians, Petra has performed the songs of the great singers like Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald.

Petra recorded another album "Nice Work If You Can Get It" in 2002. Petra sings regularly with various orchestras in the Czech Republic and performs as soloist with her various bands, such as "Petra Ernyei Quartet". This excellent formation includes two guitars and double bass. In December 2009 the band presented its latest album "So Many Stars". With this band, Petra went to the Jazz Festival in Bansko in Bulgary in 2010.

Petra has taken part in various jazz festivals in Great Britain, Germany, Slovakia and Hungary.
